Second Round Results 
Hollywood, S.C. -- Furman freshman Jaclyn Hilea (73-71=144) posted a one-under 71 to grab a two-stroke lead and the Paladins paced the field with second round 304 to extend their advantage to six strokes Monday at the Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship at the par-72 Links at Stono Ferry.
Hilea birdied five holes, including three on the front nine, to post one of only to rounds below par on the day. The Kaneohe, Hawai'i, native moved ahead of fellow Paladin freshman Stefanie Kenoyer (70-78=148) and second place Danielle Mills (71-75=146) of Elon to carry the lead into Tuesday's final round. Mills sits two strokes back with Kenoyer and UNC Greensboro's Ashley Mylton (73-75=148) four strokes off of the pace in a third place tie.
Furman (294-304=598) weathered a rough back nine and managed to stretch its advantage to six strokes over second place UNCG (297-307=604) after two rounds. Elon (301-315=616) holds third place with Chattanooga (305-313=618) fourth and the College of Charleston (314-306=620) fifth entering the final 18 holes of the 54-hole event.
The Paladins made the turn at four-over-par, but shot 12-over on the final nine holes. Blair Lamb (77-75=152), the defending Southern Conference champion, fired a three-over 75 to move up to seventh place.
The tournament will conclude with final round action Tuesday beginning at 8 a.m. Furman will tee off with Elon and UNC Greensboro beginning at 9:40 a.m.
