GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Lady Paladin tennis team opened the 2008 season with a 7-0 win over Georgia State on Friday.

Furman started the match by winning the doubles point, with all three pairs winning tough matches. Gioia/Manojlovic defeated Kozmina/Malina 9-8 (5) in the number one spot, Osborne/Swindall topped Powell/Gresova 8-6 in number two doubles, and Arguello/Tomorry won over Nitkova/Strickland 8-6 in the third spot.

The Lady Paladins won all their singles matches as well, with junior Laura Gioia leading the way in number one singles, defeating Martina Nitkoa 6-4, 6-3.

Furman continues play Saturday with a match against #60 Virginia Tech.
