GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Furman women's tennis team improved to 4-3 on the season with a 7-0 win over Winthrop Tuesday.

The Lady Paladins won the doubles point with victories in number one and number two doubles. The team of Laura Gioia and Natasa Manojlovic defeated Lisa Wilkinson and Elizaveta Zaytseva 8-3, while the duo of Lauren Osborne and Monica Arguello topped Yelena Fadina and Sara Abutovic 8-2.

In singles play, the Lady Paladins won all six matches in straight sets, with the closest match taking place in number six singles, where Jennifer Betts defeated Paula Pereira 6-3, 6-2.

With the win, the Lady Paladins improve to 4-3 on the season, while Winthrop falls to 1-7. Furman will take the court again on Feb. 29 against #17 Pepperdine.
