GREENVILLE, S.C. - Furman women's tennis player Laura Gioia has earned a 53rd place ranking in the latest ITA poll, announced yesterday.

A junior from Tampa, Fla., Gioia has gone undefeated in singles play so far this year. She has earned wins over ranked opponents #84 Carol Salge (Clemson) and #73 Ana Marija Zubori (South Carolina). Gioia has also won over opponents form Georgia State, #60 Virginia Tech, UNC Charlotte, Alabama, and Winthrop.

The women's tennis team will return to action on February 29 with a match at #17 Pepperdine.
