After posting its ninth consecutive undefeated conference regular-season record, top-seeded Furman heads to the 2008 Southern Conference Tournament in search of a fifth straight automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Furman enters the tournament with a 68th-place ranking in the most recent ITA poll. The Paladins (16-5, 9-0) will play their first match in the quarterfinal round on Friday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m., at the Farmfield Courts in Charleston, S.C. Furman will face the winner of No. 8 Chattanooga and No. 9 College of Charleston, a match that will be played on Thursday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m.
With a 7-0 win over Davidson last Saturday, Furman won the SoCon regular-season crown for the tenth consecutive year. The Paladins have dominated the league this decade, extending their regular season league winning streak to 88 straight matches.
