Thomas Named CollegeHoops.net High-Major All-American

March 31, 2008

Will Thomas, George Mason's senior forward and first-team All-CAA selection had a tremendous four-year career and he has one more honor to add to his list of accomplishments as he was named to CollegeHoops.net's High-Major All-American Second Team.

Thomas led the Patriots in scoring and rebounding and became the seventh player in school history and first in 17 years to average a double-double. He was Runner-Up for CAA Player of the Year and CAA Defensive Player of the Year. He was joined on the second team by fellow CAA player Eric Maynor of VCU, who edged out Thomas for CAA Player of the Year honors. Also on the second team were Adam Emmenecker of Drake, Jaycee Carroll of Utah State and Will Daniels of Rhode Island. The first team was made up of Drew Lavender of Xavier, Robert Vaden of UAB, Reggie Larry of Boise State, Trent Plaisted of BYE and Gary Forbes of UMass, who was also selected the High Major Player of the Year.

Thomas had the best season in school history in field-goal percentage and total rebounds. He also finished first all-time at Mason in field-goal percentage, third in rebounding and seventh in scoring. He is top 6 all-time in CAA history in field-goal percentage and rebounding.
