Mason Signee Named Co-MVP of Jordan Classic Regional Game

April 23, 2008

Just last week, George Mason signee Andre Cornelius had a strong showing at the Capital Classic, being named to the All-Tournament Team. His future teammate, Ryan Pearson, decided to do one better.

Playing in the Jordan Brand Classic Regional All-Star Game in Madison Square Garden, Pearson, a forward from Christ the King High School, scored 36 points, grabbed 15 rebounds had three assists and three blocks and was named the game's co-Most Valuable Player. Pearson's team suffered a 129-127 loss in the game.

Pearson, like Cornelius, signed a national letter-of-intent to play for George Mason and he was the game's top scorer and rebounder. He also was the game's top shot blocker. Pearson was 15 of 19 from the field, 1 of 3 from 3-point range and six of his 15 rebounds were on the offensive glass. He played 25 minutes in the game.
