The George Mason softball team will host its second tournament in as many weeks, as the Youngstown State Penguins and the Iona Gaels travel to Fairfax for the 2008 George Mason Invitational. The two-day tournament will feature six games, as each team is scheduled to play the other two participating schools twice. Admission to all games at George Mason Field is free.

Mason enters the weekend with a 3-8 record, coming off a doubleheader split with Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday. Mason saw a seventh-inning rally fall just short in a 6-5 loss to Mount St. Mary's, then rebounded with a big first inning in a 4-1 victory over the Mountaineers. Mason is led on offense by sophomore Ashli Breau, who is batting .474 with three RBIs.

Youngstown State (0-7) is looking for its first win, and is led on offense by Kristin Bair, who holds a .526 batting average with three RBIs. Iona, with a 2-2 record, is paced by Valerie Laschen, who is hitting .583 with five RBIs and two home runs.
