George Mason Athletics Opts Not to Renew Contract of Women's Track and Field Coach Angie Taylor

FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason University Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics Tom O'Connor announced that the Patriots will not renew the contract of women's Track and Field head coach Angie Taylor.

Taylor just completed her ninth year as head coach of George Mason University's women's cross country and track and field program. The Patriots finished fifth at the Colonial Athletic Association Track and Field Championships this past April.

Taylor graduated from Illinois State in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in speech communication. Additionally Taylor was honored as ISU's "Athlete of the Decade." In her post-collegiate athletic career, she competed as a heptathlete for various USA national teams and was a finalist in the heptathlon in the 1992 Olympic trials.
