Yellow Jackets break 19 school records at ACC Championships.

ATLANTA - Two NCAA automatic qualifiers and 19 school records highlighted a very successful two weeks for the Georgia Tech swimming and diving teams at the 2008 ACC Championships held at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. Both Agatha Kwasnik (100-free) and Elizabeth Stowe (1650-free) will represent the Jackets at the NCAA Championships, March 20-22 in Columbus, Ohio.

"The last two weeks have been amazing and I'm not surprised that they went fast," head coach Stu Wilson said. "They have worked hard all season long and they knew that we were shooting for ACC's. 18 School Records with a lot of B-cuts said a lot about both the Men's and Women's program as we move up the ladder to achieve National recognition."

The men finished fourth in this year's ACC Championship, while the women were sixth. The Tech women's diving team placed at least third in all three events and will send Stephanie England, Hannah Krimm and Michele Bertolino to the NCAA Diving Zones in Auburn, Ala., March 14-16. Krimm was second on the one-meter board while England placed third on the three-meter board and platform.

Mickey Malul was the ACC champion in the 100-breast, Tech's first winner in this event. In addition, two Yellow Jackets qualified for the Olympic trials last weekend following the ACC meet. Johnny Hagaman qualified in the 100-back (57.35) while Kwasnik did it in the 100-free (57.11).
