Four Jackets Off To NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships

Elizabeth Stowe, Agatha Kwasnik, Stephanie England and Hannah Krimm will be competing in Columbus, Ohio

ATLANTA - Seniors Stephanie England and Elizabeth Stowe as well as sophomores Hannah Krimm and Agatha Kwasnik will be representing Georgia Tech at the NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, March 20-22, at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the campus of Ohio State University.

England and Krimm each qualified for the diving championships with their performances at last weekend's zones held at Auburn. Stowe will be swimming in the 500-free and 1650-free events while Kwasnik will participate in the 50-, 100- and 200-free races.

"It is going to be a very fast meet where you had to make the "A" cut just to qualify," head coach Stu Wilson said. "Both Elizabeth and Agatha are going to do great but this is going to be Elizabeth's last meet. I can't tell you how happy I am for her and how much I have enjoyed coaching her. Agatha will be gaining a lot of experience since she has never been to a National meet."

England and Krimm were two of 12 divers to advance out of last weekend's zone regional meet. At last month's ACC Championships, Krimm was second on the one-meter board while England placed third on the three-meter board and platform. Both were selected to the All-ACC team.

Stowe secured her spot in the NCAA Championships with her performance at the ACC meet as well. She set a new school record in the 1650-free (16:19.33) by more than nine seconds while her first 1000 (9:55.75) also set a new school record. Kwasnik, meanwhile, established new school records at the ACC Championships in the 50-free (22.88), 100-free (49.39) and 200-free (1:47.40). Kwasnik registered her NCAA qualifying A cut during time trials of the 100-free. Kwasnik and Stowe were both named All-ACC performers.
