Cohan, Haley Earn Top-10 Finishes at Yale

April 7, 2008

- Georgia Tech's Adam Cohan shot a pair of 2-over-par rounds of 72 to finish at 4-over 144, one shot off the lead at the Yale Spring Opener in New Haven, Conn., which concluded Sunday. The junior from Wayne, Pa., tied with three other golfers for third place.

Freshman teammate Paul Haley went 69-76 to finish at 5-over 145, joining a group of seven players tied for seventh.

The finishes were career bests for both players. Tech head coach Bruce Heppler sent the two, plus sophomore Daniel Bowden, to play as individuals in the event at the Course at Yale while the Yellow Jackets' travel team played last weekend at the Administaff Augusta State Invitational (tied for sixth).

Bowden shot 76-74 to finish at 10-over 150 and tie for 40th place. Jason Thresher of Bryant and Michael Shore of Harvard shared medalist honors at 3-over 143.

Tech now looks ahead to the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, which will be played Apr. 18-20 at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C.
