Wednesday's Game: GW (8-14, 4-8) hosts Rhode Island (20-8, 6-7) for the second meeting this season and the 48th meeting in the series. GW fell to the Rams, 81-70, on Jan. 23 in Kingston, RI. That loss snapped a six-game winning streak against URI.

• GW has won three of the last four meetings at Smith Center by an average score of 88-72.

• GW is 7-3 at home this season while Rhode Island is 4-5 on the road.

• Rhode Island has road victories at Syracuse, Fordham and St. Bonaventure this season.

• GW is coming off an 80-71 triumph over Richmond Saturday at Smith Center. Rob Diggs led the Colonials with 20 points, including 6-6 from the free throw line, while Damian Hollis converted 10-10 from the free throw line.

• Rhode Island is coming off a 90-83 loss to Saint Joseph's Sunday at the Ryan Center. The Rams have lost five of their last six games including four straight.

• GW is 12-8 against Rhody at Smith Center where GW is 308-120 (.720) in 32 seasons.

• GW is without starting point guard Travis King, who is sitting out the season with a knee injury.

• GW has won 53 of its last 76 regular-season games and 31 of its last 44 A-10 games.

A Closer Look at Rhode Island: The Rams enter play Wednesday with a 6-7 record in the A-10 after losing four straight. URI has three players averaging double figure points led by senior F Will Daniels' 19.0 ppg and Kahiem Seawright's 8.2 rebounds is second in the A-10. Keith Cothran is third in the A-10 with 1.79 steals a game and Jimmy Baron, the son of Rams' head coach, Jim Baron, has hit 85 three-pointers. For the season, URI is shooting 47.5 percent from the field, averages 81.8 points a game and is outrebounding opponents by nearly three caroms a game. GW assistant coach Roland Houston is a former URI standout (1978-82) while URI assistant coach Kevin Clark is a former GW assistant coach (1995-98).
