WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University men's tennis team, hobbled by injuries, fell to Binghamton, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the Regency Sport & Health Club in McLean, VA. The loss halted GW's six-match winning streak. It was the Colonials first loss since they fell at #38 Old Dominion on Jan. 20, 2008.

Freshman Yan Levinski took the place of an injured Mustafa Gencsoy and played from the No. 1 position for the first time. The Australian native defeated Binghamton's Faisal Mohamed 6-3, 6-3. The other GW win in singles play came from Erik Hannah in the No. 4 position, who was victorious over Sebastian Dietz 7-5, 2-6, 6-1. Binghamton took the doubles point by sweeping all three doubles matches, winning each one by a score of 8-6.

"We suffered mentally and physically without a full lineup,' said head coach Greg Munoz after his team's first loss in over a month. "I know the team's energy will be higher for the A-10 Conference tournament, and it will keep building as we get closer."

George Washington will host Charlotte in an Atlantic 10 Conference match on Thursday, Mar. 6, at 1:00 p.m. The match will be held at the Montclair Country Club in Montclair, VA.
