WASHINGTON, DC - No. 15/15 George Washington's four seniors combined for 32 points in their final home game to help the Colonials defeat Fordham, 66-27, at Charles E. Smith Athletics Center Saturday and earn a share of the Atlantic 10 regular-season title for the seventh consecutive season.
Junior Jazmine Adair (Washington, DC/Anacostia) had her first double-double of the season with 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead GW, which finished the regular season 24-5 overall and tied with Temple at 12-2 in conference play. The Colonials will be the No. 2 seed for next weekend's A-10 Championship at Saint Joseph's University in Phildelphia by virtue of their Jan. 19 loss against the Owls. GW faces the St. Bonaventure/Rhode Island winner Saturday, March 8, at 4:00 pm.
Kimberly Beck (Fairburn, GA/Woodward Academy) paced GW's four seniors with 13 points, followed by Whitney Allen's (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge) 12-point, 10-rebound double-double, her second in as many games and fourth of the season.
Sarah-Jo Lawrence (Rhoadesville, VA/Orange County) struggled with foul trouble and finished with four points, two assists and two steals in 19 minutes. Lora Mitchell (Orem, UT/Mountain View) netted the Colonials' first three points of the game on a free throw and spectacular alley-oop from Allen. The group has led GW to a 98-27 overall record and 54-5 mark at Smith Center during their four-year careers.
GW extended its home winning streak to 13 straight games and finishes the season 14-1 at Smith Center.
Fordham (0-29, 0-14) led 5-3 just over a minute into the game, but GW scored the next 19 points to take command. Megan Mahoney hit one of her three three-pointers to close the gap to 24-10 with 6:48 left in the first half, but the Rams wouldn't score the rest of the period as the Colonials extended their lead to 31-10 at the break. Mahoney finished with a game-high 15 points for the Rams, who set the NCAA Division I record for losses in a season.

The Rams' 27 points were the fewest ever allowed by the Colonials against an A-10 opponent, besting the 32 surrendered against La Salle earlier this season. It was also Fordham's lowest output since the NCAA began sponsoring women's basketball in 1981.
GW shot just 37.3 percent from the field, but limited Fordham to 10 field goals on 23.3 percent shooting. The Colonials improved to 15-0 this season when allowing less than 60 points.
