WASHINGTON, DC - No. 17/16 George Washington hosts Saint Louis at 7:00 pm Wednesday night in search of its 12th consecutive home victory. After having a 15-game home winning streak snapped by Rutgers earlier this season, the Colonials have reeled off 11 straight victories at the Charles E. Smith Athletic Center - tied for the ninth longest home streak in the nation as of Feb. 19.

GW has won both series meetings against Saint Louis, which joined the Atlantic 10 for the 2005-06 season. The Colonials capped last year's Charlotte-to-St. Louis road trip with a 64-47 victory over the Billikens behind 16 points from both Kimberly Beck and Sarah-Jo Lawrence.
The Colonials look to rebound from Saturday's 63-60 loss at St. Bonaventure, their first loss to the Bonnies since 1989 (26 games) and just their second in 33 all-time meetings. GW trailed by as many as 23 points in the first half, but managed to grab a two-point lead with 3:23 remaining. However, SBU scored six of the final seven points to deal GW just its second loss in the last 17 games.
GW slipped into a three-way tie for first place in the Atlantic 10 with Temple and Xavier following its loss at St. Bonaventure. With victories in its next two games, GW can clinch one of the Top 4 seeds and a first-round bye for the Atlantic 10 Championship. The Owls hold the edge in the race for the league's regular-season title by virtue of their victory over the Colonials on Jan. 19. GW has won at least a share of six straight conference regular-season crowns, including West Division titles each year from 2002-05.
The Colonials are on the verge of a new single-season attendance mark Wednesday. The 24,816 fans to watch GW this season marks the second highest single-season home total in program history - trailing only the 25,344 fans during the 1996-97 season - with two home games remaining. GW also is averaging 1,909 fans through 13 home games this season, which would top the program's single-season home attendance average of 1,637 set during the 1995-96 season.
Saint Louis moved into a tie for seventh in the Atlantic 10 standings with its 71-65 victory over Massachusetts in St. Louis, MO, on Saturday. The victory over the Minutewomen gave the Billikens their fifth league win of the season, which eclipses the four victories the Bills posted in each of the first two seasons in the A-10.
SLU is led by a trio of sophomores - Theresa Lisch, Katie Paganelli and Amanda Kemezys. Lisch leads the team in scoring at 17.2 ppg and is the younger sister of the Billikens' men's team's leading scorer Kevin Lisch. Paganelli, who scored a team-high 21 points in Saturday's win versus UMass, adds 12.3 ppg. Kemezys is the team's leading rebounder at 7.9 rpg while chipping in 10.6 ppg. Saint Louis is 3-15 all-time and has lost eight-in-a-row against ranked opponents, with their last upset coming versus No. 20 Depaul, 73-71, in overtime on Jan. 24, 2003.
