Gymnastics Posts Season High on Beam in Second Place Finish at Inaugural Pink Meet

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington gymnastics team scored a season-high 48.350 to place second at it's Inaugural Pink Meet Sunday afternoon at Charles E. Smith Athletic Center. West Virginia won the meet with a 194.550 followed by GW (192.650) and Maryland (192.500).

Sophomore Megan Quinn tied a career-high with a 9.775 on beam, and posted the same score on floor to place second overall in both events.

Junior Kristen Simpson continued her streak of great vaults with a 9.800, also placing her second overall.

The Colonials got off to a rocky start on vault scoring just 47.975 points. After Simpson, freshman Leslie Delima took second on GW with a 9.700. Sophomore Christa Devine and senior Carolyn Marckesano also turned in solid vaults with 9.650 and 9.600, respectively.

Senior Gillian Coleman and Devine led the Colonials on bars with a pair of 9.725's. Senior McKenzie Parrack and junior Bree Plotsker followed the duo with a 9.675 and 9.600. Quinn also posted a 9.575 as GW racked up 48.300 points on the vent.

In what is typically a down-event for the Colonials, GW posted its seaon-best and meet-high score with a 48.350 on the beam. Quinn led the way with a 9.775, while Devine posted a 9.700 to take second on GW. Plotsker was third on the team with a 9.675, while sophomoe Lindsay Tom and and Delima both recorded a 9.600.

 

 

GW finished the meet on floor and posted a 48.025 team score. Quinn once again led the way with a 9.775, while Parrack, who was sixth in the lineup, scored a 9.750, lifting GW into second place in the meet. Delima and Coleman posted a 9.700 and 9.675, respectively.
