WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University gymnastics team will look to set another season high on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 3, when they travel to East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) rival North Carolina State in a quad meet. Texas Woman's University and #16 Auburn will also compete at the 1:00 pm contest. The meet can also be viewed on www.ACCSelect.com

The Colonials accumulated 192.050 points last Sunday at West Virginia to take third in a quad meet behind the currently sixth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners and the Mountaineers. Freshman Leslie Delima recorded her top collegiate performances on the bars, beam and floor en route to tallying 38.325 all-around points, good for third overall. Sophomore Christa Devine took fourth overall on bars (9.825) and junior Kristen Simpson took fifth on vault (9.750). Junior Erin Quigg posted her best collegiate mark on any event with a 9.725 on vault, while senior Carolyn Marckesano led GW on floor with a 9.800. Senior Gillian Coleman took fifth in all-around for the second straight meet with 38.025.
North Carolina State finished second of four teams at Friday's Governor's Cup held at Towson University. The Wolfpack finished behind North Carolina by accumulating 192.750 points. Brittney Hardiman led NC State on all-around, tallying 38.850 points with team highs on vault (9.825) and beam (9.575). With a score of 9.825 on vault, Hardiman was in a three-way tie for second in the event. Hardiman also recorded a 9.675 on bars and 9.775 on floor. Taylor Seaman recorded a pair of 9.800's on vault and bars, winning the meet title on vault. Seaman also posted a 9.775 on floor and 9.175 on beam to finish with 38.550, sixth on all-around.
No. 16 Auburn travels to Raleigh after a 0.500 point loss to then top-ranked Florida on Jan. 25. Auburn led Florida after the first two rotations 97.875-97.825. Lindsey Puckett and A.J. Mills combined for first place in three events over the Gators. The loss put Auburn to an 0-3 record, but the Tigers are still ranked 19th on floor and beam, 22nd on bars, and 13th on vault. Puckett leads her team with individual rankings of 25th in the all-around, 16th on vault, and 35th on the floor exercise. Julie Dwyer joins her teammate in the polls holding the 34th spot in the all-around.
Texas Woman's University is coming off a third place finish at their quad-meet on Jan. 27, scoring 192.175 points. Despite not utilizing an all-arounder, The Pioneers received a first place finish from Amie Boles, who recorded a meet-best 9.900 on floor. Nicole Poling earned a second place finish on vault with a 9.875. Courtney Arno-Templet also placed second on beam with a 9.850. TWU posted a team score of 48.900 on vault as each gymnast recorded at least a 9.700. The 48.900 still ranked second to the University of Denver's 49.050 but placed all five athletes in the top ten on the event.
