Men's Rowing Wins Three at OSU Dual

DEXTER LAKE, Ore. - The Gonzaga University men's rowing team won three out of five events at the Oregon State University Dual Saturday afternoon in Dexter Lake, Ore. The Bulldogs, rowing a 2,000 meter course, earned victories in the Varsity 4+, Novice 8+ and Second Novice 8+ races. Gonzaga began the morning with an impressive victory in the Novice 8+ race. The Zags closed out the first race of the day with a time of 6:16.2, while the Beavers finished the course 11 seconds later in a time of 6:27.8. The Bulldogs dropped its next race, the Junior Varsity 8+. Oregon State won the head-to-head with Gonzaga in a time of 6:26.6. The Zags posted a time of 6:54.3. In the marquee race of the morning - the Varsity 8+ match-up, Oregon State broke away from Gonzaga to claim a six-second victory over the Zags. The Beavers had a time of 6:41.1, while the Bulldogs crossed the finish line in 6:47.4. Gonzaga got back to its winning ways as it won the final two races. The Bulldogs claimed a victory in the Varsity 4+ race with a time of 7:43.3 and won the second Novice 8+ dual with a time of 7:09.1. Oregon State's Varsity 4+ finished the course in a time of 8:11.2, while the Beavers Second Novice 8+ capped off racing with a time of 7:17.9. The Bulldogs will be back in action next Saturday and Sunday as they participate in the Windermere Classic on Redwood Shores in Redwood Shores, Calif. Oregon State Dual Results
