Seattle, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the spring season Thursday, falling 7-0 to No. 37 University of Washington at the Nordstorm Tennis Center in Seattle, Wash.

The Zags drop to 2-1 with the loss, while the Huskies jump out to an 1-0 record in the spring.

Gonzaga fell behind early in doubles play as Washington swept all three matches. Stefan Feddersen and Roman Dojcak dropped the No. 1 match to UW's Derek Drabble and Patrik Fischer, while Zack Radetzky and Charles Adams fell 8-2 at No. 2 to Andy Kuharszky and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan. Gonzaga's Cooper Fratt and Logan Napolsky lost a hard fought 8-6 match to Brad Bator and Martin Kidahl.

In singles play, the Bulldogs were unable to overcome their one point deficit. Dojcak, Adams and Napolsky all fell by scores of 6-0, 6-1. Dojcak fell to Kuharszky at No. 1, while Adams dropped his decision to Ryo Sekiguchi at No. 5 and Napolsky fell to the hands of David Chu at the No. 6 position.

Also for the Zags, at the No. 2 position, Feddersen fell 6-1, 6-1 to Fischer.

Radetzky suffered his first loss of the spring, dropping a 6-4, 6-0 decision to Tobi Obenaus. Prior to Thursday's loss, Radetzky had posted a 2-0 record in the spring season.

Fratt battled at the No. 3 spot but was unable to come up with the victory. The senior fell behind 6-2 in the opening set before dropping the second set by a 7-6 (1) score.

The Bulldogs will return to the courts Friday, January 25, when they travel to the University of Arizona in Tucson. The match is set to begin at 1:30 p.m.
