Davis, Calif. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team opened a three-match series in Northern California with a 4-3 loss to UC Davis Friday in Davis, Calif. The match was started on outdoor courts but due to inclement weather, was finished indoors.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 3-5 on the season, while UC Davis improves to 6-4.

The Zags took the opening two matches of singles play with victories at the No. 1 and 2 positions by Roman Dojcak and Stefan Feddersen, respectively. Dojcak overcame an early deficit to defeat Henri Lande 3-6, 6-3, 7-5. Feddersen eanred a three-set victory over Michael Reiser 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3. At No. 3, Justin Garcia posted a 6-7 (1), 7-6 (5), 6-3 defeat of Zach Radetzky while Nick Lopez posted a 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 win over Conor Feeney at No. 4. Cooper Fratt dropped a 6-0, 7-5 decision to Daniel Elefant at No. 3, while Charles Adams fell in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3 to Tyler Lee at No. 6.

Gonzaga earned the doubles point after taking two-of-three matches. At No. 1 the Bulldog duo of Feddersen and Radetzky 9-8 (4) and at No. 2 Adams and Dojcak defeated Elefant and Reiser 8-6 to earn the point. At No. 3, Gonzaga's Feeney and Fratt fell to Nic Amaroli and Kevin Liang 8-4.

The Zags will hit the courts again Saturday, when they face West Coast Conference foe Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, Calif.
