SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University women's basketball junior Jami Bjorklund has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Bjorklund earned first-team honors for the second-straight year in District 8 which includes student-athletes from NCAA Division I institutions in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Five total student athletes, including Bjorklund, were selected to the District 8 first-team and will now be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. Also joining Bjorklund on the first-team were Delaney Conway (Portland State University), Lindsey Plumier (UCLA), Elizabeth Doran (Santa Clara University) and Kelsey Kahle (Portland State University).

Bjorklund currently holds a 3.94 GPA in business administration. The Spokane native is currently second on the Bulldog squad in points per game, averaging 10.4, and third in rebounds per contests at 5.0. She also is averaging 1.8 assists and 1.0 steal per game and shooting a blistering 52.1 percent (98-188) from the floor. Bjorklund has scored in double-figure points in 10 Zag games, including two 20-plus performances, and has registered one double-double on the season. She tied a career-high in points when she posted 25 against Eastern Washington on Dec. 29.
