SEATTLE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's novice rowing squad earned a second and fourth place finish at the Husky Open hosted by the University of Washington Saturday at Montlake Cut in Seattle, Wash.

The annual card of 2,000-meter races included collegiate crews from Gonzaga, Washington, Washington State University and Western Washington University along with numerous rowing clubs from throughout the region.

The Bulldog Novice 8+ placed second behind the host Huskies in their first race of the morning. The Zags crossed the finish line in 7:22.0, 13 seconds behind Washington who had a finish of 7:09.9. Placing third was Washington State who had a time of 7:36.2.
