SAN JOSE, Calif. - The woes continued for Gonzaga University's women's golf team in the spring opener at the Spartan Invitational Tuesday, the Bulldogs unable to climb out of last place in the 15-team field.

No Bulldog golfer was able to break 80 in the 54-hole event, Rachel Sibbitt leading Gonzaga with 82-80-80 for a 242 over the par 72, 6,179-yard Almaden Country Club layout to tie for 57th.

Gonzaga shot a 1,004 as a team with rounds of 332-343-329. The University of California captured the team title at 899 for a 5-stroke victory over host San Jose State University.

Selanee' Henderson captured medalist honors with 71-72-75 for 218 and a 2-stroke victory over Cal teammates Pia Halbig and Allison Goodman.
