DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Former Gonzaga University women's golfer Mary Kate Morgan has qualified to play on the Duramed FUTURES Tour.

Morgan, a native of Longview, Wash., has Category C status as someone who competed at the 2008 Duramed FUTURES Tour Qualifying Tournament last November but did not receive exempt status. She is guaranteed to be able to compete in the first half of the tour events for 2008.

The 2008 season begins March 14-16 with the Bright House Networks Open at Cleveland Heights Golf Course in Lakeland, Fla.

Morgan capped her collegiate career last spring by finishing sixth in the West Coast Conference Championship to earn her second straight All-WCC first-team honor, the inaugural two-time first-team honoree in Gonzaga's WCC history. She finished tied for third in 2006 to equal the best Gonzaga individual finish.

The mission of the Duramed FUTURES Tour is to prepare the world's best young women professional golfers for a career on the LPGA Tour. The Duramed FUTURES Tour has established itself as "the Road to the LPGA" and in 1999, it was designated as the official developmental tour of the LPGA. In July of 2007, the Duramed FUTURES Tour was acquired by the LPGA and became the "LPGA's developmental tour."
