Feb. 29, 2008

Spokane, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's soccer team will open its 2008 spring schedule Saturday, when it faces off with Boise State University at Lampson Stadium in Kennewick, Wash.

The Zags will play six spring matches, including two in Spokane. April 6, the Bulldogs will travel to Pullman to play Washington State University at Noon before hosting the University of Montana in Spokane on April 11 at 3 p.m. April 15, Gonzaga will host Idaho at 4 p.m. before making the short trip to Cheney on April 25 to play Eastern Washington University at 3 p.m. April 27, the Zags will close out the spring season with a contest against the Vancouver Whitecaps. The time and place of that match is still yet to be announced.

The games played in Spokane will be held on Hamilton Field as construction has begun at Martin Field for the Zags' new soccer facility.

The Bulldogs finished the 2007 campaign with a 12-7-1 overall record, including a 3-4-0 finish in the WCC. The 12 victories tied the school record for victories in a season in addition to the fifth consecutive season in which the Zags have posted a winning record and 10 or more wins.
