Pullman, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 44 Washington State University at the Simmelink Tennis Center at the Hollingbery Fieldhouse in Pullman, Wash.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 2-6 while the Cougars improve to 9-3 for the season.

Gonzaga posted its lone victory of the day with a 8-7 (7-1) victory at the No. 1 doubles position as Emily Anderson and Aglaya Kokurina defeated Ekaterina Kamendova and Marina Nicolas. At No. 2 the Cougars' Aleksandra Cekic and Jessica Gomez posted an 8-4 win over Sydney Lederhouse and Erin Humphrey. Clare Dodge and Danielle Farmer dropped an 8-2 decision at No. 3 as WSU earned the doubles point.

In singles play, Washington State won all six points in straight-sets. At No. 1, Burduli, the 91st ranked player in the nation, defeated Anderson 6-1, 6-1, while Aglaya Kokurina fell to Stefanova 6-2, 6-4. Playing No. 3, Dodge fell to Kamendova 6-0, 6-2 and Lederhouse lost to Selaru 6-1, 6-0. Rika Mehndiratta fell to Cekic 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 while Kristen MacWilliam wrapped up singles play falling 6-2, 6-0 to Gomez at No. 6

The Bulldogs will return to action Friday when they face the University Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo. at 2:30 PT.
