Spokane, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's tennis team posted a 7-0 win over visiting UC Santa Cruz Monday at the Spokane Racquet Club in Spokane, Wash.

The Zags (6-11) jumped out to a strong start, taking all three doubles matches to earn the early 1-0 lead. Sydney Lederhouse and Erin Humphrey earned the first victory after defeating Kyla Kessler Rowe and Chrissy Nichol 8-2. The Bulldogs then sealed the point No. 1 as Emily Anderson and Aglaya Kokurina up-ended the Banana Slugs' (4-7) Jessica Ruth and Megan Sweeney 8-3. Rounding out doubles play, at No. 2, Danielle Farmer and Rika Mehndiratta earned an 8-6 victory over Chayla Furlong and Taylor Mannix.

The Bulldogs continued strong play into singles, as they earned victories at all six spots in straight-sets. At No.1, Kokurina earned her 11th victory of the season with a 6-1, 6-1 decision over Ruth. Anderson defeated Sweeney 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2, while Mehndiratta continued her strong rookie campaign with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Manniz at No. 3. At No. 4, Dodge defeated Furlong 6-4, 6-4 as Lederhouse earned a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 5 over Rowe. Rounding out singles play, at No. 6, Humphrey defeated Nichol 6-4, 6-4.

Gonzaga will return to action April 4 when they continue a four-match home stand by hosting West Coast Conference foe Santa Clara University at the Spokane Racquet Club.
