Box Score

The GVSU men's tennis team earned a decisive 9-0 victory over Lewis on Sunday. The Lakers improve to 11-2 on the year and have now won three matches in a row. GVSU will be in action on Friday, March 21 as they begin GLIAC play in a home match against Ferris State. Match time is slated for 3:00 pm in Allendale.

The Flyers were only able to field five players, giving the Lakers two wins by default. The remaining Lakers singles victories came in straight sets. Tony Dang won 6-3, 6-2, while Renato Tamashiro picked up a 6-2, 6-2 victory. In the third and fourth singles slots, Patrick Troy and Philipp Claus had no problem, as they each blanked their opponent 6-0, 6-0. Matt Globerson won in easy fashion by a 6-3, 6-1 and the sixth victory was given to Brock Plangger, by default.

The Lakers played just two doubles matches and made quick work of the Flyers. Dang and Plangger teamed up for an 8-4 win in the top doubles slot, while Troy and Tamashiro handled their opponents, 8-1. Globerson and Alex Switzer were credited with the third doubles victory, by default.
