Bay City, Mich. - Senior outfielder Sarah Holland has been named the GLIAC Player of the Week following her strong start to the season. In the first 21 games of the season, Holland has helped the No. 7 Lakers to a 15-6 mark to open to the 2008 campaign. She leads GVSU in most offensive categories, including hits (28), doubles (9) and triples (4). The Lakers' next scheduled games are this weekend, with a double-header against Mercyhurst on March 29 and a double-header against Gannon on March 30.

Holland also leads the team with an on-base percentage of .457 and a slugging percentage of .667. Her slugging percentage is helped by her team-best 14 extra-base hits while her on-base percentage is boosted by her team-high nine walks. She has also hit one home run and tallied 16 runs batted in, which is second on the team. Her batting average of .398 ranks her third on the team.
