The Grand Valley State women's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory at Kalamazoo College on Friday. GVSU took four out of six singles matches and two out of three in doubles on its way to victory. With the win, the Lakers improve to 20-5 on the season. The Lakers will be in action on Sunday, March 16. The match is set to take place at the Ramblewood Tennis Courts in Grandville, Mich.

Junior Audrey Koopsen won her seventh singles match in a row with a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the No. 2 singles slot. Koopsen stands at 21-7 (.750) on the year. Darylann Trout was also victorious in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3 while Jaime Oppenlander picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win in the No. 5 singles slot. Rounding out the victories for the Lakers was Jackie Shipman, who posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over her opponent. Jenna Killips fell in the top singles slot, 6-0, 6-4 and Chelsea Johnston lost in the only singles match to go three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3.

In doubles play, the tandem of Killips and Emily Zellner was ousted in the top slot by a 9-7 count. Koopsen and Oppenlander improve their record to 5-0 together with an 8-0 blanking of their opponents. The last remaining victory for GVSU was by Trout and Johnston, as they won easily, 8-2.
