Skillman, N.J. - Grand Valley State University's men's and women's tennis teams earned postseason awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Monday, adding to already impressive seasons. Head coach John Black was named the Great Lakes Region Women's Coach of the Year after taking both teams to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Tony Dang and Audrey Koopsen were both tabbed as the region's Players to Watch.

Black earned the Coach of the Year award after leading the women's team to a 27-6 record and the men's team to a 20-6 mark. The women's team went into the postseason as the number two seed in the region and hosted the first two rounds. The men's team went into regional play as the third seed and lost to #4 Drury in the second round.

Koopsen played the majority of the season in the number two singles spot, going 21-8 in the second tier. She also went 2-0 at number one singles and finished the year at 26-10 overall. She played most of her doubles with Jaime Oppenlander and McCall Monte. With Oppenlander, Koopsen went 10-2, all in the second tier. She went 13-6 with Monte, including a 10-3 record at the number one spot.

Dang went 12-6 at the first singles spot and tallied a record of 17-8 overall. He played the majority of his doubles matches with Patryk Polus, going 13-10 overall, including 10-8 record in the number one doubles spot.
