Final Stats

Mankato, Minn. - Kathie Posa and Mary Bogner headlined the field events at the Minnesota State Open. They took first and second place in the women's weight throw, respectively, and Posa broke her own school record in the event, throwing 59'9". The Lakers will be back on the track on Feb. 8-9 in Boston, Mass. at the St. Valentine's Invitational.

Posa's throw of 59'9" was followed closely by Bogner's distance of 55'11.75". The two took the top two places at the competition, with third place ccoming in at 54'4". Two Lakers competed in the pole vault, with Ashley Smith finished ninth with a height of 10'11.75" and Kellie Kieren cleared a height of 10'9" to finish 13th.

Posa and Bogner also competed in the shot put. Bogner threw a distance of 40'1.25" to finish eighth, while Posa came in 21st with a distance of 35'4".
