University Center, Mich. - Grand Valley State University claimed its ninth consecutive GLIAC title in outdoor track by picking up 251 points in University Center, Mich. The Lakers recorded seven first-place finishes en route to the victory, and outpaced second-place Ashland by 95.5 points. Head coach Jerry Baltes was named the GLIAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year.
GVSU got two top-nine finishes in the 400-meter dash, with both Katie Mandziara and Ashley Jager earning points. Mandziara finished fourth with a time of 57.77 seconds while Jager finished eighth at 59.27 seconds. GVSU took three top-nine finishes in the 800-meter run, led by Katherine McCarthy's provisionally qualifying time of 2:12.40, which took first. Katie Alfredson tied for second at 2:16.41 and Rebecca Winchester was eighth with a time of 2:18.31.
Four Lakers earned points in the 1500-meter run, with Susie Rivard finishing second and provisionally qualifying with a time of 4:38.60. Kelly Gibbons and Winchester were third and fourth, respectively, with times of 4:39.82 and 4:40.51. Alfredson finished seventh with a time of 4:42.99. Gibbons and Winchester both provisionally qualified, as well.
Four Lakers crossed the finish line in order in the 3000-meter run, with Amy Kolin getting the highest finish in second place at 10:20.85. Gibbons was second (10:23.17), Rivard was fourth (10:27.36) and Samantha Gordon was fifth (10:29.48). Megan Maceratini and Lynsey Ardingo took first and second, respectively, in the 5000-meter run, as Maceratini crossed the finish line in 17:39.62 and Ardingo in 17:43.20. Both times are provisionally qualifying marks.

Heather VanderSlik won the high jump, clearing a height of 5'6". GVSU had the top four finishers in the pole vault, with Dianna Noonan's height of 12'9.5" claiming the top spot. In the hammer throw, Emily Fox and Kathie Posa took second and third, respectively, with distances of 180'1" and 178'10". Mary Bogner took the javelin throw with a distance of 144'4".
