NCAA DOUBLE-A ZONE FEATURE ON Jonathan Wallace: Georgetown's Wallace Is A Role Model

Washington, D.C. - Georgetown University senior center Roy Hibbert (Adelphi, Md./Georgetown Prep) was named to the BIG EAST Conference's Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after leading the Hoyas to a pair of wins last week. Hibbert's performance helped the Blue and Gray improve to 24-4 overall and 14-3 in the BIG EAST.

The Hoyas host Louisville on Saturday, March 8 in a game that will decide the regular season champion of the BIG EAST Conference. The Cardinals enters the team with a 24-6 overall record and an identical 14-3 league mark. Louisville posted a 59-51 win over the Hoyas earlier this season.

Georgetown won its fourth-straight game and the 11th in the last 13 games, with a thrilling 70-68 overtime win at No. 21 Marquette on Saturday. The win not only kept the Hoyas among the top in the BIG EAST, it also clinched a first round bye in next week's league tournament.

Earlier in the week, the Hoyas won their 20th-straight game at Verizon Center with a 64-52 decision against St. John's.

Hibbert, the BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year, averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks while shooting 63.2 from the floor during the two games. He scored 17 points, grabbed three rebounds, had three steals and blocked two shots during the team's win against St. John's. Against Marquette on Saturday, he scored a game-high 20 points - connecting on 7-of-11 shots from the field and 6-of-7 from the free throw line - and grabbed six rebounds while blocking three shots.

The 7-2 senior captain leads the Hoyas in scoring with 13.6 points per game and in rebounding with 6.4 boards per contest. He is third in the BIG EAST in field goal percentage (60.5 percent, 144-of-238) and third in blocked shots (2.36 per game).

This is the second-straight appearance for Hibbert on the BIG EAST's Weekly Honor Roll and the sixth appearance in the last eight weeks of the season.

Georgetown is ranked No. 11 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll and No. 10 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches' poll.

The game on Saturday against Louisville will only be the second time in the history of the BIG EAST that two tied teams will have played each other on the last day of the regular season for first place. The other was in 1988, when Pittsburgh won at Syracuse, 85-84.
