Georgetown Heavyweights Defeat George Washington

Washington, D.C. - Georgetown Men's Heavyweight Crew defeated George Washington in the varsity, second varsity and third varsity eights in the annual spring race between the two programs on the Potomac.

Georgetown won the varsity event in a time of 5:47.0, with George Washington crossing the line in 5:55.1. Members of the Hoya Varsity eight were Jack Carlson, Paul Keith, Spencer Almy, C.J. Mathieu, Andrew Ciriello, Max O'Neill, Chuck Hartwig, Bob Morgan, and Taylor Frank.

In the second varsity, Georgetown finished in 5:54.3 to George Washington's 5:59.0. The Georgetown winning crew included Rod Solaimani, Andrew Federer, Sam Bourneuf, Luke O'Donnell, Bryan Chismar, Joe McElwee, Michael Stack, Grant Morrow, and Joe Ledvina.
 

 

Georgetown won the third varsity event in a time of 6:02.1 to George Washington's 6:06.2. Members of the third varsity eight were John Geager, Jaesung Lee, Peter Holowesko, Phil Goodman, Tom Skomba, Rob Schaus, Nick Williams, and Max Michiewicz.

The freshman eight event marked the lone defeat for the Hoyas. George Washington was victorious with a time of 5:58.3; Georgetown finished in 6:05.6. The Georgetown freshman crew included Victoria Stulgis, Thomas Graham, Brendan Baumgardner, Jack Anderson, Matt Lavin, Patrick Opdyke, Will Keleher, Ryan Harbison, and Andrew Ehrlich.

Georgetown hosts Temple on the Potomac on Sunday, May 4, for its final regular season race of 2008.
