Georgetown shot a nine-over par 293 in the second round and finished in 10th place at the First Market Bank Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary earlier this week. The Hoyas' final round score was the fourth-best round of the day in the 19-team field. Francis Marion posted a two-round score of one-over par 569 to top the 19-team field. Detroit Mercy shot an eight-over par 576 and finished second, nine strokes ahead of Gardner-Webb, who finished third at 17-over par 585. They were followed by Florida Gulf Coast and James Madison (18-over par 586), Richmond (21-over par 589), Liberty (22-over par 590), St. Bonaventure (25-over par 593) and Bucknell (26-over par 594). Georgetown was 10th at 28-over par 596). Mark Sommerfield of Detroit Mercy sank a birdie on the first playoff hole to claim individual honors at five-under par 137. Junior Tim Hager (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock North) shot a four-over par 146 to lead Georgetown, tying for 17th place in the field of 106 golfers. Hager posted a three-over par 74 in the first round, but came back with a one-over par 72 in the second round. Junior Garrett Logan (Henderson, Nev./Bishop Gorman) tied for 35th place at seven-over par 149, carding rounds of five-over par 76 and two-over par 73. Sophomore Vincenzo Salina (Vandoeuvres, Switzerland/Institut Florimont) tied for 41st place at eight-over par 150, firing an even-par 71, the team's best round of the tournament, in the final frame. Freshman Brandon Ellis (Westerville, Ohio/St. Francis de Sales) tied for 68th place at 13-over par 155 and classmate Danny Hathway (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) tied for 72nd place at 14-over par 156. The Hoyas return to action on March 29-30, playing at the Lacrosse Homes Invitational in Graysonville, Md.
