Washington, D.C. - Georgetown University freshman golfer Brian Dorfman (Greenwood Village, Colo.) had a standout performance at the Colorado State Junior Stroke Play Championships last weekend. Dorfman placed third in the field of 84 golfers at the Colorado Golf Association's stroke play championship for juniors, which was held at par-72, 7,000-yard Raccoon Creek Golf Course in Littleton. The field was cut to 40 golfers after two rounds. Dorfman shot a two-over par 74 in the first round, but made the cut after firing the second-best round in the entire field with a five-under par 67. Dorfman shot a final round two-under par 70 and finished in third place with a five-under par 211, two strokes off the lead. He is one of two freshmen on the Hoya roster this year, joined by Taylor Hall (Roswell, Ga.).
