Chicgao, Ill. - The Georgetown Men's tennis team was unable to overcome BIG EAST rival DePaul, as the Blue Demons defeated the Hoyas, 6-1 on Saturday at the Lakeshore Athletic Club. Senior Ted Tywang (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell Academy) picked up the Hoyas lone victory, defeating DePaul's Tim Cadet, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 in the No. 6 singles match. GU fought in the second and third doubles matches, as junior Kevin Walsh (Bernardsville, N.J./Delbarton) and Will Lowell (Nahant, Mass./Saddlebrook Prep) fell to Bartosz Jozwiak and Vanja Grgec, 8-5. The Blue Demon's Jose Moncada and Ben Hartman just squeaked past Tywang and senior Jeffrey Schnell (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn), 9-7 to capture the team doubles point. Aside from Tywang, the Hoyas were unable to take a set from DePaul, though sophomore David Tillem (Atlanta, Ga./The Weber School) and junior Adam Gross (Quogue, N.Y./Westhampton) pushed the second sets of their respective match to a tiebreak, each losing, 7-5.
