FARMVILLE, Va. - The Georgetown University men's tennis team concluded its regular season with a 6-1 loss to Longwood University on Saturday in Farmville, Va. Senior Ted Tywang (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell Academy) picked up the Hoyas lone victory, winning in straight sets in the No. 5 singles match. The Lancers jumped out quickly sweeping doubles play and continued their strong play into singles competition. Senior Jeffrey Schnell (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn) and junior Kenneth Wong (Repulse Bay, Hong Kong/St. Paul's [N.H.]) pushed their respective opponents into third sets, but neither could hold on for wins. Tywang helped GU avoid a shutout, defeating Mani Barajas-Alexander, 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 5 singles match. Georgetown will return to action on April 18 when they travel to Tampa, Fla. to take part in the BIG EAST Conference Tournament.
