Georgetown Women's Golf Finishes in Sixth Place at Springlake Invite

Georgetown had two players finish among the top-20 overall and the Hoya women's golf team tied for sixth place at the NIU Springlake Invitational, held at the Springlake Golf Resort and Country Club in Sebring, Fla.

Florida Gulf Coast and Lynn University tied for first place in the field of 10 teams with scores of 57-over par 633. Drake placed third (78-over par 654), with St. John's and North Dakota State tying for fourth place at 80-over par 656. The Hoyas tied for sixth place with host Northern Illinois at 81-over par 657.

Heather Hagerman of Florida Gulf Coast and Maha Haddiouni of Lynn tied for first place six-over par 150.

The Hoyas were led by junior Chelsea Curtis (Mashpee, Mass./Cape Cod Academy), who tied for fourth place at 11-over par 155. Curtis shot a five-over par in the second round.

Junior Carly Hunt (Easton, Pa./Conestoga) tied for 14th place at 17-over par 161, while senior Katie Dwyer (Allentown, Pa./Moravian Academy) tied for 27th place at 24-over par 168.

Sophomore Robyn English (Warwick, R.I./St. Mary Academy) tied for 33rd place at 29-over par 173 and freshman Christine Curley (Vienna, Va./James Madison) placed 47th at 36-over par 180.

Sophomore Madeleine Nguyen (Atherton, Calif./Menlo), competing as an individual, shot a 35-over par 179 and placed 46th.

Georgetown plays next on March 22-23 at the William & Mary Invitational.
