Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Georgetown women's tennis team captured the team doubles point and freshman Alex Sebia (Plains, Pa./Scranton Prep) clinched the Hoyas victory, taking the No. 6 singles match in three sets on the way to a, 6-1 victory over Duquesne University on Friday evening. The Hoyas dropped the No. 1 doubles match, but senior Liz Winokur (Palm Harbor, Fla./Palm Harbor University High) and freshman Elizabeth Sullivan (Potomac, Md./National Catherdral School) took the second, 8-2. The freshmen duo of Sebia and Caroline Kuehn (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) clinched the doubles point with an 8-4 victory in the third match. In the top singles position, junior Courtney Olsen (Englewood, Colo./Colorado Academy) battled off Johanna Bezjak in three sets, winning, 7-6, 2-6, 6-4. Senior Stephanie Cohen (Fayetteville, N.Y./DeWitt) dropped the first set, 7-5 to Zena Williams, but took the point after Williams retired. Kuehn continued GU's run, winning the third singles match in three sets, defeating Rachel McGowan, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. Winokur handled Andrea Sailor in straight sets, taking the fifth singles match, 6-4, 7-5, while Sebia came back after dropping her first set to defeat Kristen Swenson, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 to seal Georgetown's 6-1 win over the Dukes.
