WASHINGTON, D.C. - Georgetown University head volleyball coach Arlisa Williams has announced newcomers Victoria Rezin and sophomore Samantha Trauth, a transfer from Colgate University, will join the Hoyas for the 2008 season. The addition of Rezin and Trauth will round out the Hoyas incoming class that already includes Ashley Malone (San Jose, Calif./St. Francis) and Sara Manley (Dove Canyon, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic) which received Prepvolleyball.com High Honorable Mention for the top recruiting class. "I am really excited about Tory and Sam joining our volleyball family," Williams said. "Both bring a strong work ethic and winning mindset, having competed for Sports Performance, one of the premiere volleyball clubs in the country. In addition, Tory and Sam will provide ball control that will allow us to immediately improve our game." Rezin, a 5-9 libero from Morris Community High School in Morris, Ill. was named a 2008 AAU All-American, and earned All-Area Co-MVP from the Daily Herald in Chicago during the spring season. Rezin also earned the "Best Libero" award in her team's third place finish at the National Junior Classic. At the club level, Rezin competed for Sports Performance and was a member of the team that won the U18 Elite National Championship. Trauth, a 5-11 outside hitter from Naperville, Ill. joins GU after spending her freshman season with the Red Raiders. During her freshman season, Trauth saw action in 24 matches, registering a career-high six-kills against then No. 25 St. John's. On November 3, Trauth had five kills, a career-high 14 digs and two aces in a loss to American University. A graduate of Naperville North High School, Trauth also played club volleyball for Sports Performance.
