Holy Cross Men's Hockey Falls To Army, 2-0, At West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Holy Cross men's hockey team fell to Army, 2-0, on Friday night at Tate Rink in Atlantic Hockey action. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 8-13-6 overall (7-11-3 AHA), while the Black Knights improve to 12-12-3 overall (12-7-2 AHA). These two teams will meet again on Saturday night at Tate Rink at 7:05 p.m.

The first period went scoreless as Holy Cross outshot Army by a 10-8 margin, while each team went 0-1 on the man-advantage.

The Black Knights took a 1-0 lead while on the power play when Bryce Hollweg knocked in a rebound at the 10:58 mark of the second period. The goal was his eighth of the year. Army outshot the Holy Cross, 16-9, while the Crusaders went 0-2 on the power play and the Black Knights went 1-4.

At 1:14 into the third period, Army increased its lead to 2-0 when Jeff Fearing scored off a rebound for his fourth goal of the season and final goal of the game.

Holy Cross freshman goalie Adam Roy (Feeding Hills, Mass.) made 40 saves, while Josh Kassel stopped 29 shots for Army to earn the shutout. The Black Knights outshot the Crusaders by a 42-29 margin, while Holy Cross went 0-4 on the power play and Army went 1-7.
