Holy Cross Ties Army, 1-1

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Holy Cross men's hockey team tied Army, 1-1, on Saturday night at Tate Rink in Atlantic Hockey action. With the tie, the Crusaders are now 8-13-7 overall (7-11-4 AHA), while the Black Knights are now 12-12-4 overall (12-7-3 AHA). Army won the weekend series, 1-0-1, and the season series 2-1-1.

The Crusaders took a 1-0 lead at 14:43 into the first period when sophomore forward Brodie Sheahan (Lethbridge, Alberta) blasted a slap shot into the net while on the power play. The goal was Sheahan's 10th of the season. For the period, Holy Cross outshot Army by a 10-6 margin, while the Crusaders went 1-2 on the man-advantage.

The second period went scoreless as the Crusaders outshot the Black Knights, 9-6, while Holy Cross went 0-1 on the power play and Army went 0-3.

The Black Knights tied the game at 1-1 at 1:58 into the third period when Robb Ross scored his fourth goal of the year. The game remained tied through overtime for the 1-1 final score.

Holy Cross freshman goalie Adam Roy (Feeding Hills, Mass.) made 23 saves, while Josh Kassel stopped 27 shots for Army. The Crusaders outshot the Black Knights by a 28-24 margin, while Holy Cross went 1-4 on the power play and Army went 0-4.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday and Sunday, February 16-17, when they travel to Buffalo, N.Y., to meet Atlantic Hockey opponent Canisius. Saturday's game will start at 7:05 p.m., while on Sunday the game is set to start at 4:05 p.m.
