Jimmy Harrison Named New England Player Of The Week

Feb. 25, 2008

WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross junior men's lacrosse goalie Jimmy Harrison (East Williston, N.Y.) was named the first Turfer Athletic New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division I Player of the Week of the 2008 season, for his performance in Holy Cross' first ever win against Yale and for his performance in the victory at St. John's. The Crusaders have started the season 2-0 and are ranked fifth in the New England Coaches Poll.

In the 7-6 win at Yale on February 24, Harrison made a career best 22 saves and his .786 save percentage was the fourth best save percentage in a single-game in school history. Yale had won the previous first seven contests in the all-time series starting in 1965. Harrison also stopped 10 shots in the 7-5 victory at St. John's in the season-opener on February 16.

The Crusaders (2-0) return to action when they open the Patriot League season on Saturday, March 1, when they travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to take on Lehigh at noon.
