WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior Chris Smith (West Haven, Conn.) has been named the GoHolyCross.com Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 28-February 3. Smith won two individual events and was a part of a winning relay team last Saturday, while leading the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team to a 127-112 victory over Providence.

In the Providence meet, Smith won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:05.36. He also captured first place in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:28.27. Then, with Holy Cross holding a slim 116-106 lead heading into the final event of the day, Smith swam the anchor leg on the 400-yard freestyle relay team which placed first in a time of 3:20.60, to win the meet.

The Crusaders return to action on Tuesday, February 5, when they travel to Boston College for a 6:00 p.m. meet.
