Track Competes At Bernard Solomon Invitational

Dedham, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's and women's track teams traveled this weekend to compete in the Bernard Solomon Invitational held in Dedham, Mass for a non-scoring meet. The women's had 24 top 10 finishes and the men had 14. For the women Lauren Courtney (Ashland, Mass.) had a first place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.92 to lead the Crusaders. Caitlin White (Miller Place, N.Y.) took second in the 100-meters with a time of 12.88 and in the 200-meters with a time of 26.87. Emily Henry (Lumsden, Saskatchewan) finished third in the triple jump with a jump of 33'11.25". Christie LeTarte (Lunenburg, Mass.) finished third in the javelin throw with a toss of 115'6". The 4x100-meter relay team took second with a time of 52.31, and the 4x400-meter realy ran a 4:19.50 for a second place. The men had seven fifth place finishers, starting with Jason Baillio (Franklin, Mass.) in the 400-meters with a time of 52.51 and Vincent Fata (Hawthorne, Mass.) in the 5000-meters with a time of 16:03.22. In addition, Robert Farrelly (East Northport, N.Y.) had a time of 10:55.15 in the 3000-meters, Matthew Kaili (Rosewell, N.M.) cleared a height to 10'0" in the pole vault, Kevin Dowd (Broad Brook, Conn.) had a distance of 17'10.25" in the long jump, Patrick McGuire (Franklin, Mass.) jumped 39'7.25" in the triple with and Kenneth McKenna (Ossining, N.Y.) had a throw of 40;9.5" in the shot put. The Crusaders compete again April 16-17, when they host the Holy Cross Heptathlon and Decathlon. |
