Ann McInerney is in her first season as an assistant coach for the Holy Cross women's basketball team.

McInerney joined the Crusaders after spending last season as an assistant coach at Harvard where the Crimson captured their 11th Ivy League title after posting an 11-3 league record. Before her one season with the Crimson, McInerney spent two years as the head coach at Maine in which the Black Bears went 23-34.

From 1999-2005, McInerney was the head coach at Merrimack College in which she led the team to a record of 119-60 including three NCAA appearances and back-to-back trips to the NCAA Division II Final Four. In 2004, she was named both the Northeast Regional Coach of the Year and Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year. She was also named the 2004 New England Basketball Hall of Fame Division II Coach of the Year. McInerney began her career at Merrimack in 1992, when she was an assistant coach for the women's basketball team for two seasons.

Prior to her success at Merrimack, McInerney spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Bentley where she helped guide the Falcons to four conference championships, three conference tournament championships, four NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearances, and one Final Four appearance. While at Bentley, she helped the team to a 139-23 record.

McInerney began her coaching career at Nichols College from 1990-1992 in which she compiled a 32-17 record. While at Nichols, her team finished the top seed in the MIAIW Tournament.

A 1989 graduate from Assumption College, McInerney was the all-time leading scorer for the Greyhounds at the completion of her career. She was named the Northeast-10 women's basketball Player of the Year in 1989 and is a member of the Assumption College Athletic Hall of Fame. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and psychology.
