Worcester, Mass. - Holy Cross hosted UMass-Boston in this afternoon's conference match up. Sophomore Kathryn O'Connor (Brookfield, Conn.) led the Crusaders with the game winning goal and an assist for the 4-3 victory over the UMass- Beacons, improving to 15-7-2 (13-4-1 ECAC) while the Beacons fall to 13-10-0 (11-7-0 ECAC).

UMass-Boston dominated the first period coming out with an early goal at 1:23 made by Sandy Parlato. At 11:42 Kim Davidge of UMass-Boston put a goal in on power play. Holy Cross took 18 shots on goal while UMass-Boston took five.

The Crusaders came out with a quick goal at 1:46 scored by sophomore Wendy Nobrega (Barrington, R.I.) with an assist by sophomore Lisa Wilson (Corunna, Ontario). UMass-Boston answered back with a goal made at 3:35 by Lauren O'Connor. Senior Sam Murphy (Canton, Mass.) answered back with at goal at 10:38 from an assist by O'Connor. Senior Sam Rush (Wakefield, Mass.) put in the final goal of the period at 19:44 on power play with assist by sophomore Katelyn Doherty (Toronto, Ontario) and freshman Jocelyn Kratchmer (Watrous, Saskatchewan) . Holy Cross took 11 shots on goal while UMass-Boston took nine.

O'Connor put the game winning goal in at 1:43 into the third period with an assist by Kratchmer for the Crusaders win. Holy Cross took 10 shots on goal, while UMass-Boston took six.

In goal tonight for the Crusaders was freshman Monique Gallant (Antigonish, Nova Scotia). She had a total of 17 saves on 20 attempts to improve to 12-5-2. For the Beacon's Brittany Squillante had 35 saves on 39 shots, falling to 5-5-0.

The Crusaders host St. Anselm tomorrow afternoon at the Hart center rink for their final game of the season. Start time is set for 3:00 p.m.
